The Government has decided to repurpose nearly 3,000 abandoned or underutilized state buildings for productive use following a nationwide review by the Treasury. According to the Cabinet statement, the General Treasury, with the support of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, has compiled data on government-owned buildings that remain abandoned, underutilized, or partially completed across Divisional Secretariat divisions. A total of 2,972 such buildings have been identified.
