A 71-year-old woman has been found murdered at her residence in Yatiyana, Minuwangoda, in what police have described as a brutal and disturbing crime. According to reports, the victim, who had been living alone since the death of her husband two years ago, was allegedly assaulted, raped, and killed by unidentified assailants. Police said the attackers had thrown chili powder on her face and strangled her to death.
