Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa visited the Orthopedic Department of the National Hospital in Colombo this morning (20) to inspect a pilot project producing prosthetic limbs using modern technology. The initiative, implemented with the sponsorship of the Humanitarian for Empowerment Institute of Switzerland, aims to locally manufacture high-quality artificial limbs using advanced materials and techniques. Officials said the project has already demonstrated strong results, offering new hope for persons with disabilities in Sri Lanka.
