A Sri Lankan man has been arrested by the Special Investigation Unit of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) for allegedly defrauding job seekers of Rs. 14.9 million by promising them employment opportunities in Canada. The suspect a Sri Lankan-born Canadian citizen, had used his permanent residency status in Canada to convince victims that he could secure them jobs overseas.
