A nightclub in Bambalapitiya was raided by the Colombo South Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau on the night of October 6, 2025, Vap Poya Day, for allegedly selling alcohol in violation of the ban on religious holidays. Police said the raid took place around 9:40 p.m. following information that alcohol was being sold at the premises.
