The Overall Rate of Inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, has increased to 1.5% in September 2025. According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the increase is in comparison to the 1.2% recorded in August this year. Food inflation has also increased to 2.9% in September 2025 from the 2.0% reported in August 2025. However, non-food inflation has decreased to 07% in September 2025, compared to the 0.8% recorded last month.
