The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for rough seas and strong winds, requesting the Naval and fishing communities to be vigilant in this regard. According to the Met Department, showers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Winds will be south-westerly and wind speed will be 30-40 kmph.
