The Western Province North Crimes Division informed the Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court today (26) that the Acting Minister of Defence has granted departmental approval to detain and interrogate Sampath Manamperi for a period of 90 days. Former local government member Sampath Manamperi is currently in remand custody in connection with an incident involving two containers suspected to contain chemicals used in the production of the drug “ICE”.
