2026: A Stern Test for the Government and an Opportunity to Prove its Mettle

While gaining points for action on the anti-corruption front and turning away from the elite old political guard, it has earned brickbats for inaction on human rights issues and addressing the concerns of minority communities. There are no concrete moves to deal with the causes that led to the 26 year civil war nor to bring justice to victims of war related crimes.
