President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has arrived in Parliament to present the Appropriation Bill for the 2026 financial year. The President, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, will deliver the second reading of the Appropriation Bill for the year 2026, commonly referred to as the Budget Speech. Following this, the budget debate will be held over six days, from 08-13 November, with the vote on the second reading scheduled for 14 November.
